What is Mindfulness

riverMindfulness is a safe and natural technique that teaches you how to focus on your own thoughts, feelings and sensations in a new and positive way for much greater happiness and physical health.

Psychological studies have shown that we often react to situations in the same ways.  This automatic process is often the reason why so many people repeat similar patterns of anxiety, negative thinking and stress in their lives.

Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to what is happening in your life in any particular moment. It is way of calmly and consciously working with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges and demands of everyday life.

Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) courses and classes at Milton Keynes Mindfulness will help you learn how to respond to situations differently by consciously bringing awareness to those automatic reactions, teaching you how to accept and observe the present moment rather than reflecting on the past.

By learning and practicing mindfulness, you’ll be able to recognise your patterns and automatic responses and instead choose a response that is more positive, calm, comfortable and focused on the ‘now’.
